Identifying the Grade of the Great Model 8?

In trying to identify the specific grade of my model 8 is there or should there be a stamp of the grade letter somewhere in particular or do I need to identify the grade by the observable features of the rifle?

Thanks.

take off the forearm. If there is a 3 or C you have a "C" grade, 4 or D for "D" grade, etc.

Why do you think it's a higher grade?

Thanks for that info 35Rem. I'll have to take a closer look the next time I have it broken down.

I have no reason at all to think mine is any particular grade but was simply wondering if there was any sort of identifier built into the design of the rifle clearly designating that or if one would have to identify or determine that fact based upon the look and visible features alone.

Thanks again.
