Remington mod 8 D-grade with round knob stock

Here is one I just picked up. It's an 8 D-Grade with a round knob stock. This one has been very well used as it shows loss of blue in all high wear spots and stock shows many dents and scratches. It is in 32 rem with a nice bore. It has a Marbles peep sight and a Marbles buckhorn rear sight and front sight is higher than normal with no name on it. The checkering of the wood is still fairly sharp and checkering is like that pictured on "grades of 8s and 81s " in information section of this site.

It's a 1911 manufactured gun serial # 21936. The forearm is marked with a 4. After removing the stock the tang cut out is marked 21936 - 4 as well as the top and bottom tangs of the receiver and trigger group.

Not a high grade gun but a good honest wear gun. I particularly like it because of the round knob stock. It has some neat markings behind trigger guard which appear to be " H - circle K - F " I haven't looked that up yet but I will. I hadn't seen a gun marked in that spot before.

Hey John, I’m sure glad you were able to pick up this rifle. Just goes to show that not all is lost. This piece is exactly how I like to find them. A little honest wear is attractive to me. It shows me that it was used for its intended purposes,but well cared for. Congratulations on a beautiful acquisition. Let me know if you need anything to reload for 32 Remington. I have about everything,and many successful formulas for hunting and target rounds.
By the way, I traded for a 1913 mfg Colt us army military 1911 over the weekend. Anyone who has been on this forum knows that I’ve always been into many different types of JMBrowning guns. Especially Colt 1911 pistols,Winchester levers, and Browning auto 5s. It’s the earliest 1911 us army I’ve ever owned. It’s been there and done that too, kind of like your newest Dgrade. Once again, congratulations on your latest find.
