Local club “fall festival” day

Post by RedFlannelCap »

I took my Early Type FBI Model 81 out to our club’s annual “fall festival” this past weekend and used it in the running deer event. Apart from being sublimely out of place among the competition, it was also a good reminder of why I don’t shoot at running deer in the field! As a fun bookend to the day I took its cousin, a 1927 manufacture Remington Model 11, for the shotgun events. Don’t they look great together?

Very cool. Two very nice condition examples.

You may have motivated me to take on of my autoloaders to the running deer shoot. Just to give it a whirl.

Good luck for your big game season if you're getting out at all.

I figure if I have to shoot at a running deer, there are worse choices than an 81.
I am the cat who walks by himself. And all places are alike to me.
