Re: New recruit from Central Pa

Be careful Hibby. Around here we talk of a sickeness called "Jackitis". It's a disorder where 8/81 collecting becomes uncontrollable. There is no known cure, just ask forum member Jack1653! Haha. I may just have this disorder... My overall plan is to find the 32 Remington to complete the ...

Re: New recruit from Central Pa

Noticed you got one with the top-toe buttplate that is a good find. & in 25 Rem, had one almost the same & had to trade for a Inglis. It too has JMB designs. Good luck with the pair, watch out though, they'll soon be whining  for their relatives. Then infect you with Jackitis :!: ...

That’s a great collection!

Your collection is basically what I’m going for, have the 25 & 35 now. I’m on the hunt for a Model 8 in 30 & 32 rem and a 81 in 300 sav.

Henwood book

I received The Great Remington 8 book from my parents for my birthday. My mother was very fortunate to have found it new and at a un-inflated price. First proof through and short read of some parts, I’m very impressed with the information and history. I won’t be able to give it the full read until I...

Re: gunbroker--problems

What I do is I start at the main breakdown search. I search under semi auto rifles. I then filter the search by using Remington as the manufacturer and then pick the caliber of choice, and once I exhaust the search for “25 Remington” I’ll go onto the next chambering of choice. The only firearms that...

Re: Ahlberg Collection ** Picture Heavy!

To say “what a collection is an understatement...”.

I imagine the quest for all of these to include the friendships and the stories must have made building your arsenal very rewarding & quite the experience.

Thank you for devoting the time and knowledge posting about these rifles.

Krieger conversion

Good evening everyone. I have a lead on what I’m sure is a Krieger converted model 8 in 35 Remington. They didn’t have anything put in their ad about it, but it definitely has a removable magazine. It’s in average shape and no extra holes in the receiver, it has a white line butt and the addition of...

Re: Stamp question.

Thank you. I’m green behind the ears on these and figured I’d ask. I’ve learned a bit over the time that I’ve been searching for one from this forum. Once I purchased one I decided it’s time to join the forum. I assume since there’s no other stamps that this rifle was not sent back to Remington for ...

Stamp question.

Here’s a couple pictures of my recently acquired Model 8 with stamps that I hope to hear some information about. One photo is at the serial number where the receiver meet the barrel. The second photo is on the barrel shroud.

New recruit from Central Pa

Hello everybody, my name is Luke. I’m a mechanic is the National Guard, I’ve been in for the last 16 years. I’ve been interested in Model 8’s for quite awhile and finally jumped on board very recently. I purchased one on gunbroker last week “waiting on it to be shipped to my FFL” and an additional o...
