One restored and one converted
Couple weeks back I posted about finding a blessing under the buttplate of a 141. I was taking it apart because during reassembly of an early (1914) Model14 in 32 Rem chambering , the trigger assembly was giving me a fit. Wanted to compare with the later 141 to try and solve the problem. With that a...

Really one from the past...110 years. Really something to see the flair that people had with their handwriting.Afraid it won't be long and it will be a lost art with folks like us the only ones that can decipher it. Neat find. Ya never know. Joe

Wow! A one of a kind. The seller is a member here 'remcrazy' Bob Bruniger. I have one of his stocks for a restoration I`m doing. Does great work. Cam can probably tell you about who did the conversion. Should be a little more pleasant to shoot in 30 Rem. I think you did fine young man !! Joe

Unexpected message and blessing
Yesterday I was working on a Remington model 141 I`ve had for many years. Have learned that you never know what can be found under old buttplates. Old hunting licenses, names of prior owners and once a hundred dollar bill have been there in the past. This time it was something special. It was a "Bles...

Re: Would anyone be willing to take some measurements of a Model 8?
Measured one of my early Model8`s with straight stock. Without using calipers and just a straight rule it was 3.5-3 9/16 for the upper and lower tang. Without removing the stock it appears to be 1 9/16 between the tangs. Again eyeballed with a straight ruler. With a Silverhills stock you should have...

Rifleman..... Seller was pretty clear about what was factory (the 17 Federals) and the rest obvious reloads and stated being sold as components only. Agree with your policy on reloads. The price is not too bad with factory stuff $2 a round or better and brass going for a buck a piece. I havn`t shot ...

Better chance looking for rain in Death Valley than Remington making anymore 35Remington. Not trying to create problem where none exists.Just caution about what I have had occur with old brass in the past. The splitting of the necks occurs because as brass ages it gets hard and brittle and upon firing will break/split . Yours may be just fine and will more than likely function ok. If you...

Re: Finally found ammo for my 81
Glad you are happy with your find. The 'Dogbone" Rem and the Win Silvertips are of course "vintage" aka old. One caution: with brass being at such a premium you may experience split necks when you shoot them. I ran into that with a couple boxes of 30Rem Red/Green box few years back. Rather than wast...

Dan, I don`t have a 241 but this was good excuse to dust off my 24 . I get 5/8 inch center to center on it.Should be the same on a 241. This one has been the backyard varmit rifle for many years. Ammo for the 35 Rem like most everything else these days seems to be in pretty short supply.
