Re: Remington model 8-D grade
Hey John T, it looks like a beautiful rifle. I’m sure if it could talk it would tell some great stories. I hate to be the one to point this out, but it appears that a case of jackitus has taken ahold of you. Please don’t take offense, it’s just an observation from an old man in Iowa. Thanks for you...

I did shoot it last Monday along with that C-Grade I bought and changed the bolt carrier on. I also gave the Kreiger conversion a go. They all shot nice with no malfunctions. I shot two clips 10 rounds rapid fire out of each gun. John

Re: C grade at auction
Well I tackled the bolt carrier on the C-Grade today. As soon as I took the big spring out of the back of the receiver a little piece fell out !!! It was the big end of the firing pin so I am glad one was present on the bolt carrier I bought. I watched the take down videos on the site and all seemed...

Got lucky and spied this on a gun auction site back about a month ago at a very reasonable price. The little aluminum piece on the bottom of the magazine made me wonder at first but everything else looked correct so I went ahead and bought it anyway. I think the owner probably attached that piece so...

One just sold on eBay a few days ago for $300.00. I guess if you had a Krieger conversion gun with no magazine it would be a steal or even if you had a magazine and wanted an extra they are certainly a hard if not impossible find. John

These rifles had 26" barrels and the white lug cap covering the pin through the stock for strength.
They were also milled slots for muzzle brake from the factory they were carried on into the early 700 Safari's until 1963.
Hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking ! John Taylor

Remington 725 Kodiak rifles in 375 H&H and 458 Win
These are a few from my other Remington collection bolt actions !! I found a Lyman 41 R sight for a model 8 I have with holes already present with filler screws in them. The sight isn't mint by any means but will match the patina of the gun just fine. Great work and a fine looking flintlock John! From the looks of the target you had the load and hold for match quality. Your quarry stood little chance. Pretty cool you did some traveling for out of state hunts. I'd like brainstorm and make that happen for my neighboring states "ohio/new york/...
