Remington Autoloading Rifle

I have a 1907 (#7580) vintage Remington Autoloading Rifle, which as most know was the first year production of the rifle in 32 Remington that I am putting up for sale. I thought that I would bypass GB for now and see if anyone has interest. Transparent on price. $700 will get it shipped to your FFL. ...

I am truly sorry that John or Bob did not get this rifle. I just stuck a lowball bid on it before I left for an Alaskan vacation-I never considered myself a serious bidder. Anyhow, I think that all is fair when bidding at auctions, and I would never take it personally if someone was bidding against ...

I agree with you, Cam, it is a cool rifle with a lot going for it, albeit the wood is a bit worn. I actually put my money where my mouth is and bid on it yesterday. Not too outrageous of a bid, mind you-I would bet that I don't get it without upping my bid, but we shall see. I don't usually go overb...

A sweet rifle indeed! The 308 chambering makes it really interesting as well as the 20 inch barrel. Very unique, and that is some beautiful walnut that sets off the engraving perfectly.

Thanks for those photos, John.

Since your rifle already has a peep sight, why not just take it to the range and shoot it with that set up? I bet it will shoot pretty well just as is. You say that it has the Weaver side mount for a scope, but has it been drilled and tapped for that mount? I shot a deer in Iowa last year with a pee...

Thanks Roger. Your "ramblings" are very insightful. I have thought it interesting that under Iowa law, it would not be legal to shoot a deer during the regular gun season with a 30 Remington, but it would to use a 35 Whelan, or even 50 BMG. It makes no sense to me. 30 or 32 Remington would...

Hello and welcome. I would be most concerned about the ammo if it is old. If it is new ammo, probably not much to worry about in that regard. As far as the rifle itself, if it the bolt locks back, the magazine is functioning, and the barrel is freely sliding in the barrel sleeve, go ahead and shoot ...

Obviously it could be that the extractor needs to be replace. However, is this rifle scoped? If so, the windage adjustment knob can cause the case to end up back in the mag well on top of the magazine. In this case, it actually extracted, but then rebounded back off of the scope to land back in the ...
