I don't have an extra but I do have a couple rifles that also have very worn tabs - doesn't seem to hurt how the rifle functions, just a pain on assembly.

Always wonder exactly what was the purpose of that tab ...?

This may sound silly but since these rifles often needed the scope to be cocked (to get parts out of the way of ejecting brass...

My story was not regarding an 8-81 (wish it were) but an old Savage shotgun.

Couple more points (hope I'm not boring you guys :ugeek: ). These observations kind of cross over into what to do to make a good sale. But buying and selling is a trust relationship that must work hand in hand. The buyer must first feel like the seller cares about his product (via the presentation)....

You might want to take a look at putting it up for auction on GunBrokers, AuctionArms, etc. or check their "actual sales" to get fairly close on a price to post it here or in local classifieds, etc. In our Trading Post - For Sale section I've posted some of my experiences regarding buying ...
