unusual fore end

Anyone have any insight as to the origin of this fore end?

Different. 2nd 81police's comment. Over the years I've seen pictures of a few other brands/models of firearms that had stocks different from the norm. Some looked interesting, others looked 'hinky'.

Not saying that I'd want it on my 1908 Remington Autoloading Rifle, although I wish I had a spot for a forward sling swivel (yes, my barrel jacket is not tapped).
