Hello,
Would anyone by chance know the thread size of the (5ea) screws used to mount the Stith type side scope mount? Thanks.

Unless anyone posts the answer, I'll take one off of a Stith I have on a Savage 99 and see what that is. Assume it would be the same for a Remington 8/81.

I wish i had a way to measure the pitch on the screws, any thread pitch gauge i have access to doesn't go that small.

Pure guess from looking at other posts on the forum. 5-48 range ???

Best would be a good genuine gunsmith or well outfitted gun shop to help.

I got one of these in SAE & metric:

https://www.amazon.com/Screw-Chekr-Thre ... 20&sr=8-20

Works great for testing & is hard enough to act as a file plate to clean up cut offs. It is not hard enough to act as a shear though..
I recall the Lyman 41AT is supposed to be 5-28 but one of mine is a 6-32, so be aware this is not set in stone.

Have a couple extra Stith sets with screws. The screws are 6-48. Couldnt find my pitch gauge but did a side by side with a 6-48 from my Weaver scope screw kit and it matches up.

I’m digging the ideas of an attaching piece of picatinny rail using the holes for the rear sight and placing an Sig Romeo 5 RDO on it. Anyone know the hole spacing for the rear sight?
