Hi,
Kinda new here. Picked up my 1913 Modell 8 in Feb this year.
Looked to be in good shape, general inspection showed no problems with good bore.
Put 20 rounds through it at the range, no problems.
I’ve now done a complete tear down and found the firing pin is broken. Bought a new
one, which I believe is for the 81. The rear of the pin has quite a bit of wobble in the
bolt carrier. My concern is if the pin slides backwards during recoil the full amount
it can travel against the retaining pin, the front tip of the firing pin will come out of
the hole in the front of the bolt.
Has anyone used a new style firing pin in a Model 8? Are their any issues?
