Hi all,
I recently found this forum. I'm not an owner, yet, of a Model 8 or 81 but this is on my list of guns I'd like to have one day. I'm a blued steel and wood stock sort.

Welcome to the board Richard. Owning one isn't a requirement, you're certainly welcome.
Classic walnut and steel are hard to beat. Do some research and figure what caliber & other details fit your bill and budget.

Hey Richard,
Welcome to the forum. I lived in the Athens area for more than 30 years and loved the area. I moved back to Illinois to help care for aging mother and mother-in-law.
You shouldn’t have much difficulty in finding a Remington model 8 or 81. Buying one might be a challenge and the prices are getting higher. You can usually find the rifles on the internet auction sights like Gun Broker.
If you have questions about these rifles, there are members here that most likely can and will answer them. Good luck in your quest and we will be looking for updates and pictures.
