So, my plan this year was to take four rifles to the fields and take a deer and maybe a pig with each one. The Rem model 81, the Winchester 70, a Ruger 77 in 22-250 and the AR15 in 6.5 Grendel. I got close. As you see I got three deer with the Winchester and one with the 81. The AR15 accounted for two pigs but no deer and the Ruger had no joy. I tend to over-think these things and I want to hunt with all of my rifles.

Next year there will definitely be a Savage 99 in 300 Sav in the lineup.

The star of the show was the Winchester with its second wall hanger taken in two years. 155 yards through both lungs and he went about 40 yards and piled up against a tree. The Remington kept its title of Heavy Hitter as it knocked down its third deer. That 200 grain bullet is not long ranged but inside its envelope nothing gets back up. The doe taken was the largest we've seen at this club at 135 lbs. The AR15 in 6.5 Grendel did well against pigs but I don't know how it will do on deer.
