Pics of shooting my 81!

Post by Terran1 »

Finally got out to shoot my 81 in .300 Savage!! The gun was a hoot! We all found it real to fun to shoot and it's weight seemed to make it steady and relatively accurate with no scope.

I popped up here a while back and posted a few pics. This is a gun I recently inherited from my father-in-law. Pretty sure my 81 is from 1940-44. Its in great shape and it only hung up a couple times when ejecting shells. Could of been how loaded the bullets or just a bit dry from sitting for so long. But again..the gun shot very nicely, was accurate and easy to handle.

I wanted to shoot the gun before I decided what to do with it as it is part of a large collection. I think I will sell it as I have so many others to deal with and only have so much room in the safe. I'd like to keep it just for its aesthetic value (the design has Browning's 'fingerprint' all over it!) but I'd rather it go to someone who really wants one or has been looking!
