Folks,
I spent a bit of time today scouring over digitized newspapers for my job - 6th grade teaching - as I reviewed primary sources for this year's plans. Along the way, I realized just how many great old gun ads were in America's newspapers, ca. 1860-1922, and thought I'd share a few of the good ones.
The following adverts are from 1909-1913. Neat!
The next couple of pics are meant to go together; basically I had to break up this ad into 2 parts in order to scan it.
Take a step back in time, if you wish, and do some digging in the Library of Congress' website - you may find something interesting!

I had never seen this before, "3 cartridge clips supplied with each rifle".
And I also liked this, "extra cartridge clip .10 each"!

that ad you referred to was from a 1909 newspaper. The prices and options are the main parts that interested me!

Here's another newspaper ad for the Model 8, this time from a 1910 paper.
And another from 1909 - sorry for the quality, I will look for better resolution of this one, which I really enjoy viewing.
