Well, it's only been around 40 day since I posted that information, no wonder the auction is over.

Clem, I can read dates, no need for sarcasm! This is simply a different way of skinning the same cat so I'll let you all know how well it works when I receive and try it.

No sarcasm intended, just noting that it's been a while so the auction would of ended. The seller did relist the items, so there will be a chance that they might still be avaliable.

Good luck with your rifle, those barrel nuts and barrel jacket bushings can be a pain to take off.

Glad to hear it Clem, it's hard to judge through a post only.

My issue is the opposite, the barrel nut was so loose that I took it off by hand so after a real good cleaning I'd like to properly tighten with a spanner wrench. Hoping to get the most accuracy out of this rifle!

My #8 is a 1912, .30 Rem. rifle. I took it apart and cleaned it up. I also replaced the recoil spring and buffer spring. Seeing how my rifle is 100 years old, with dirt, gunk and spring set, I didn’t want any metal to metal contact where there was none designed to be.

Contact Bob on his GB listings, I'm sure he has several more of those spanner wrenches and has other handy tools listed.

I'd like to get ahold of a spanner wrench for a 35 Rem. mdl 81.
My local gunsmith gave me the cold shoulder.
I've never seen the inside of mine.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

try Bob with Circle B Ranch. He has two versions...a reproduction of the factory spanner wrench and a heavy duty "Pro-Tools" set.
