I don't exactly understand your post, but when I was shopping for my Model 81 I got a call from a fellow about my interest in these guns, he said How many do you have. I said one Model 8, and one Model 81. Oh, he said I have over 200. He was interested in how much I paid for the 81, and was critical of my spending, saying he never paid more than a couple hundred for any of his.

Hi Richard, Just back from vacation and picked up a Model 8 at the local gun shop in 35 Rem, so add that to the total.

Hi Bill,

Where in Maine are you located. I'm in Northern Penobscot County.

One 35 cal model 8 SN 293xx. 1914 I was told. Came in a break down canvas/leather case. Came from the UP-Mich with a 16 Ga L.C Smith 1911, which I used for Turkey in KY last spring---21.5 lb gobbler. I've never shot the Mod 8, and am considering giving it to my 21 year old grandson who lives in Southern ME. Jim...

8 model 8's and 5 model 81's plus a few more Rems. Yup, I catch the bug bad couple of years ago.

The family and our friends had 11 Model 8's and one Model 81 circa 1952.

I have three of them and know where two others are located.

Shoot straight!!
