I think the Remington or Winchester factory loads are AOK. Maybe Hornaday lever action loads, and some of other the hotter loads (Buffalo Bore) intended for the single shot .35 Remington rifles are too hot for the Model 8. Leverlution (sp?) rounds are 200 grain but with a M/V of 2225. Buffalo Bore ammo is 220 grains. I would be very hesitant to use either in my 90 year old Model 8. Factory 150 grain and 2350 or 200 grain and about 2000 fps Remington or Winchester ammo I would use.
