Hello All,
I'm in the process of doing a light restoration on a 1908 Remington Auto loader that was in very rough shape. During the stripping process and repair of the rear stock I uncovered some interesting stamping you knowledgeable fellas could have info on. On the left side I found the stamping V.V. and on the right side of the gun in the wrist section I found the stamping F.S. BANK or F.S. BA?K
Could this be an early Rail/Coach gun. I have saw doubles stamped with Wells Fargo and similar stamps.
What are your thoughts?

Re: Stock Stamping
as often with other types of firearms, individuals and companies (especially) marked ownership of their firearms. Cool stampings, have you investigated any possible sources via google search?

Re: Stock Stamping
First Savings Bank of Gainsville, TX was chartered in 1905. Fits the timeline of the gun, but it's a leap. I'm going to include it on the restoration.
