Model 8/81 Barrel Dent Raiser tool

Post by Sarge756 »

Same friend that did the takedown tool for me built the dent raisers in the photos. This is used like a dolly in auto body repair. Tool is inserted and tightened and a brass hammer with polished face taps the dent out. The long tool is for a 12 ga shotgun. I v`e got a couple Doubleguns that I`m restoring and needed to get some dents out. The shorter tool is for our 8/81`s. One of my first model 8`s has a barrel dent and I will be doing a follow up post to show the results when I get it straightened with before an afters. Again my bud is very talented and makes really high quality stuff.

Hey Sarge,

You have a really nice tool. The machinist did a great job of creating a tool that will surely make removing dents a whole lot easier. If you were closer, I would be making some regular trips to see you take those dents out of the jacket. I could bring some jackets so you could practice. Lol

Kindest Regards,

Thanks Jack, If you were closer just think of all the mischief we could get into. You know if you have barrel jackets needing attention all you have to do is get a mailing tube and send em south.
