Hello from San Diego

Post by Ki6vsm »

Greetings all. Wanted to say hi. A couple of years ago my dad gave me his two deer rifles, which were originally purchased by his dad in or around San Antonio TX circa 1930. A nice Model 8 in .35 Remington and an also nice Winchester Model 54 in .30-'06. My father subsequently inherited these rifles and killed a lot of deer with them himself.

I jumped right in with a couple of questions about this Model 8---I asked my questions here on another sub-furum:

...though it might have been a breach of etiquette not on introduce myself first.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting this rifle in working order again. Aside from a new firing pin and a cleanup of the working parts, I don't think there is anything standing in my way.

Howdy!
I am the cat who walks by himself. And all places are alike to me.
