This is an early Model 8 - does this stock look correct to you?

IMO: No.
It looks to me like a homemade stock and the wood doesn't even resembles walnut, and has a grain pattern much like more common woods used for general construction. If homemade it looks like a pretty good job.

Looks like a home made stock not sure if it’s pine but I would guess it’s not walnut. Pretty good job and it looks better to be shape than some I have come across. Butt plate is a keeper not to many style around. How about some pictures of the rest of the old 8. What is date of manufacture.

This is a local gun thats for sale, for quite a dear price I might add, but fairly uncommon to find
DOM is 1911

In 25-35, it is certainly worth a consideration to buy unless the price is overboard.

Stock profile looks odd in some places. Wood doesn't look like walnut. I'm guessing a well-done replacement.
