Model 8 Fox

Post by Long Recoil »

I finally got a Fox. 25 years of hunting and I managed to do it with a Model 8 in .35. Oh, and it was -20 degrees.

20 yards. He has a beautiful pelt. I'm going to get a full mount.

Although I bet it's not the first fox that's fell to the Model 8, its certainly the first one I've seen a picture of. Very cool! You won't soon forget that hunt I'd imagine

I'm not sure .358" was big enough. ;) In my area I see grey foxes, never have seen any red ones. I've never shot a fox though as I think they fall under another flavor of license for fur-bearing animals.

Good shooting and thanks for sharing!

I had to choose between .32 and .35 Remington that morning. My .35 has a wonderful trigger so it got the nod.

My little Rem Model 25 in .25-20 is the quintessential Fox gun but I have a real soft spot for my old M8 .35.

The Speer 180 is a very sturdy bullet so when turned on a furbearer it acts like a solid.

Good shot!
