Loose carrier pins

Post by uhjohnson »

I have my bolt assembly out and the firing pin retaining pin and the link pin is so loose I can push them out with a round tooth pick. I have other pins and they are also loose. I cleaned the pins and channels with denatured alcohol and applied blue Loctite to one side, once the pin came out far enough from the channel I applied the Loctite and worked them back and forth. After curing I scraped the excess out and tried to push them through, they appear to be snug. Should I use JB weld to cap them or do you think I have done enough.

These pins are meant to be loose. They cannot come out once the bolt is inplace. I would suggest that you remove the blue loctite and polish the pins as you first found them. Under no circumstances should you use JB Weld to hold these pins in place!!!

Good Luck.
