New member here ( Seattle ) - Seeking info on rifles I wish to sell

Post by StrkAliteN »

I acquired around a half dozen really nice old Remington model 8s and 81s a few years ago and these are just taking up valuable space in my gun safes

I am a lifetime member on AR15.com ( same user name ) so you know I am legit

just wanted to say hi

I will check out the info on the boards and also check out the for sale rules and guidelines

I am located western WA - alittle north of hippytown Seattle

Pictures, pictures, pictures. (Un)fortunately, these are worth more than they were 20 years ago when i started my accumulation. I'm sure everyone here is waiting with bated breath to see what you have and what you want to get rid of them for. Trade? or outright sale? Number one consideration, as always, is condition. It's getting hard to find original finish, unmessed with examples. i.e. original butplates, unsanded stocks, no extra holes. Sometimes you just don't know what people were thinking. .25 seems to be very sought after and brings the most money. I guess they made fewer in that caliber than any other. .32 seems to me to be the "orphan". You either have to have a stash of ammo or you reload, with that extra step of converting .30 rem casings to .32. No a big deal to some.

I listed all 7 of them in a separate thread here

I think one of them may be an FN Belgium model 8 as it does not say Remington model 8 like the rest on the receiver ??

Hopefully someone is close to Seattle in the group as I prefer cash in person deals

Shipping a gun is a hassle and additional cost

All are original finish and 3-4 I would consider very very good condition

no rust or other finish issues other than slight wear and the lightest handling marks from prior use before me.

Hi Rob!
I see you joined the forum, you should get some good info here.
Like I said before, you should take a couple of pics of entire rifle to show, both left and right sides.
Good luck!
Paul, from Chattanooga.

I just became a member today & was reading your post on your collection----did you ever find out if your #4 listing was an FN Belgium? Mine sounds exactly same as one you speak of that has no Model # on it. It does have same barrel markings & dates you describe.
