Holes for scope mount

Post by chas1949 »

Does anyone here have the contact info for a gunsmith that could fill holes and restore a model 81 receiver that has had 4 holes for a Williams scope mount drilled and tapped in it.
This is a really nice 300 Savage with a Krieger conversion removable mag and Williams receiver sight. Would like to eliminate the four holes and have it reblued to a original looking blue.

My personal opinion would be to just plug the holes w/ plug screws. A reblue has more effect on condition for most of us than a set of scope holes. Just a thought, weld up & blueing will be almost as much as another rifle. After all she does want a sister to join her in the safe.

Or, yanno, find a scope mount and scope that girlie!
