Howdy all,

Check this out. This rifle is about 800 higher than Serial Number chart on the site.
SN#56335.

It's a very nice rifle, too.

Yeah, I was watching that one too. It's hard to believe that the two combined brought $4,725. That is some serious cash! It's nice to see really good ones, but my budget is more of the rusty, crusty, but still trusty variety. I hunt with mine, and there's no way I'm headed out into the woods with either one of those!

Those two rifles were very nice, but there was nothing unusual about them in my opinion. The good news for those of us that have rifles like these, is the value of our rifles has dramatically increased. :D The bad news is that we may have to spend more to get the next one, NOT!! :o

AAWWW now Jack you just gotta sell/trade some to buy more.
Knowing your record and philosophy you may find cash flow on a slightly negative direction :!: :!: :o
However I do know the itch of our Jackitis; just had an offer to acquire 2 A5s 16g for a very reasonable cash price. Had to refrain as it would totally deplete the aforementioned cash flow for months
Ah well in a year or so I'll be kicking myself for not going ahead. Already have bruises to prove it.

I concur with Phirbird. And that's why I try to avoid trading for the next "gotta have". Or I'd still have my 81's in 300 Savage and 35 Rem from years ago, not to mention a couple 870 Wingmaster' s, 552 Speedmasters, a super nice H&R M1 Garand, and many others.

Do 81 serial numbers outside the listed range command a premium? Mine's #56897 and if they do command a premuim I might sell it and use the money to buy a lower number .35 rem or .300 savage 81 and have some extra cash to feed it :P

this rifle was an anomaly, high serial numbers typically have zero affect on rifle value. Very very low serial numbers however, such as single digit or low two digit numbers COULD bring a small premium.

+1 on that. I like the description. Rusty, crusty but still trusty. ;)
