I get a lead on a 35 Rem Model 8 for sale locally. I didn't ask for details so I just leave to check it out. The rifle looks nice and way above average condition with very little wear and nice wood >> I am now looking at the right side and bottom >>> than I checked out the left side.

Re: Surprise
So disappointing! ....unless it was righteously low-priced enough for someone wanting to have a Model-8 with a scope...? If all those holes were covered by a mounting plate sporting a classic scope with a post reticle, I surely could ignore them easier.

Re: Surprise
hey you win some, you loose some. You're not kidding that rifle looks really nice apart from the holes. Maybe it needs to be scoped out again and cover the holes up?
