I was reading John Henwood's book last night and it says that Remington never said that the barrels between the 8 and 81 could be changed if they were of the same caliber in their interchangability index for these rifles. I know there are threads on here that mention changing out barrels on 8's and 81's for barrels from other 8's and 81's, but I didn't find anything on swapping a .35 Rem barrel between models from a Model 8 to an 81 and vise versa in the same caliber.
Does anyone know if that is possible?
Cheers,
Ian

Hey smitsauce,
It is possible to interchange barrels between the model 8 and 81. The internals are virtually identical and as long the barrels are the same caliber, it should not present a problem.

I do know a Model 8/81 barrel can be fitted onto an FN 1900 and made to work.
