a EXTREMELY rare rifle

Post by Packmule »

so for all you Vintage semiautomatic peeps out there here is one of the Rarest vintage Semi-autos out there, a 1930 Sempert -Kreighoff Semiautomatic Rifle 8X60 , only a estimated 50-75 rifles ever produced in the 10 years they were made. Two variants this is the first the second had the operating handle below the bolt. These were expensive rifles in 1930 when a safari grade double square bridge Mauser with all the bells and whistles cost $250 these cost $500 so a huge difference. Just thought I Share one of the rarest of early semi-autos that you never see for sale, Krighoff historian said less than 10 ever made it over here

Now that is some Eye Candy for sure. Curious...Did you get to touch it or is it yours? Interesting that the 8x60 round was the result of the Treaty of Versailles and that the design records of this rifle were destroyed in WW2. Rare indeed,no schematics on the net for this one.I can`t imagine the complexity of the innards. A friend`s father was a Kreighoff aficionado and had a dozen or so of their shotguns and drillings in his collection. I know that he attempted to buy one of these rifles 25 or 30 years back and dropped out of the bidding when it got too high. Don`t know what the final bid was, but do know that he had a burning desire for it and was a person of considerable means. It must have gone for a pretty penny. Thanks for posting this.Gives me something to consider should I ever win the powerball lotto.

I am  from head to toe. You are most fortunate. The scope in the high claw mounts? Nickel? Zeiss? ??? I`m sure with the many comments on the recoil of our 81`s in 300 savage that someone besides me would like to know how it compares.

My friends dad would have been a good prospect for it but alas like many good men he has gone to the fields and streams above. I agree with Cam...a video and faceoff with a Model 81. I got some information on a Zimmerstutzen I own , awhile back from The German Gun Collectors Association that was helpful . Looks like they may have a few Kreighoff fans:
