FN 1900 scope mounts

Post by 81police »

Finding Model 8's or 81's with cool scopes is not unusual, but aftermarket scope mounts for these guns outside the USA was almost non existent. It's therefore uncommon to find an FN 1900 that's fitted with a mount and scope. Most of the ones we've seen are nicely done and reflect the individual craftsmanship found with small gunsmith services across Europe. Here are a few examples of FN 1900's with various styles of scope mounting. If you've seen scoped FN's please feel free to submit photos here.

Hey 81police,

Those are some interesting mounts. Thanks for posting them for us to enjoy. I would sure like to find the ring mounts for my Stoeger that you have pictured. I looked everywhere for them and had some other guys looking too but no result.

Regards,

It would take a lot of time to hand fit a set of rings to any one of those. Would make a great rig with a vintage Alaskan scope.

Those claw mounts are way cool. Just be sure to get the rings with; hard to find spares.

The easiest way to get 1" rings for them is to buy Ruger extra high rings, and cut the clamp off the bottom. This leaves plenty of material to do lots and lots of work on......

Anyone wanting repro German scope mounts can buy them for around $200 (mount and rings). Check on ebay, type in 'German scope mounts'.

Buying the mounts and rings is the easy part - they need to be correctly adapted and fitted to the receiver.
This is not a job for the average "gunsmith".
