checklist when buying engraved fnm1900

Post by Neumjplus4 »

I'm new here and would like some SME guidance from members on what to look for concerning matching numbers, factory engraving and tell tale signs a fn '1900 is not all original. I'm looking at a rifle tomorrow that Is an engraved model. The price is in the $2000 range. Ser #1xxxYS.

Hey Neumjplus4,

Sounds like you may have a line on a nice rifle. Best of luck with it.

The serial number you listed doesn't seem to correspond to any FN 1900 serial number I've seen, particularly the "YS" ending. And I've only seen one Belgian made FN 1900 with factory endorsed engraving but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more out there. If you're able to take a few pictures of this rifle we'd all love to see it and share in your excitement!

If you're certain this is a Belgian FN 1900 and not a Remington Model 8, please refer to the page link below for a full article on the FN rifles. Hope it all works out!

Great advise Cam. If it is a factory engraved FN 1900 in the $2,000 range...You hit the "Jack Pot" !
