There's definitely $500 worth of rare FN parts there at the very least. Any chance we could get a serial number for research purposes??

Serial number is 2150 Cam
I already have #2160 in my safe, I thought that was pretty neat!
Anyways, hopefully it can be restored to some form of dignity, but I also thought it was worth the parts if nothing else so shes on her way to me 8-)

Great project gun and well worth it just for the parts. You can't go wrong with that!

Hey canuck, I have your rifle #2160 on our FN master list, but can't find any corresponding photos. Could you give us a show?

Way to go on #2150!!!!!

Finally had time to pick up this newest FN and give her a quick once over.
Pretty rough life she's had, not much blue left and the wood is well marked up

When I saw this I was concerned about what I'd find when I opened her up, looks like maybe stress on the internal barrel jacket plug....

the internals however, are in pretty good shape...

Not sure what I'm going to do about the buttstock though - suggestions are welcome.....

Thanks for looking at my post!

Canuck, I had the same problem and used a Browning Auto 5 stock . Took me about two hours SLOWLY fitting it to my FN. These fit like a glove ! The round knob Auto 5 also fits with the only difference being the checkering . I use this one because the sissy pad is easier on my shoulder .

Thanks ranman, thats probably what I'm going to do - esp. because the fit at the tang is out to lunch as well.
I was initially thinking I'd cut the extension off at the joint and install a grind to fit recoil pad but I have to make up a full 2" - can't find one that will work.
For now, (because I couldn't stand looking at it as is!) I put a piece of tanned elk hide over the end of the butt - I'm not sure it looks much better

Canuck, you might also consider a semi-pistol grip Model 8 stock, it may be an easier fitup. I personally really like the looks of the A5 stock in place, Plus one could get a FN shotgun buttplate for a close fit.
I am glad to see this one did not go to the part scrappers. I am in process of a restoration myself, wish me luck. (Need forearm screw & a buttplate for it so far)
