sling

Post by olskool »

I would like to put the correct sling swivels on my 81 that I have posted in the former thread (photos I promised) dose anyone think it will hurt the value? I have the correct set. the gun is so nice I hate to modify it in any way but I know It will go with me to the woods, but I am real carful with my guns and it will never get a scratch. so should I or not? what do yall think?

If the stock does not have a hole already for a swivel I would not put one in it. Use a vintage leather sling that straps to the stock butt plate area and then use the barrel jacket screw area for the front swivel that way nothing is harmed or drilled into. eBay has a swivel that goes into the front jacket screw

I have two sets of original swivels. but I just hate to drill on an original stock that has survived untouched for 78 years. but on the other hand I would like to put a sling on it. decisions decisions.......
