81 Special Police at Allentown PA Gun Show.

I've been going to the Allentown Show for many years. They've always had some pretty cool stuff, and this time was no exception. On one of the tables was an 81 Police. It was all correct, along with a matching magazine. It was at least 90%; a real nice gun. It was marked property of Putnam County NY. I want to say s/n was #13790, but I may be wrong. Dealer's price - wait for it - $4500! (I guess he must have been following the RIA auction earlier this year). Needless to say, I did not buy it. It's the first one I've ever seen at the show, and the first gun I have seen from NY. Pretty cool to see one "in the wild" nonetheless.

Very cool! I'd have loved to get my eyes (and hands ) on it. $4500 is a stout price, but as these things have been selling for lately it doesn't surprise me.
