Awesome, and an extra clip to boot. Don't see those very often. Nice 81 for sure and extras to go along with it. Nice find. An 8 or 81 with a Krieger is one I don't have yet.

Still posting everyday. Well, I missed yesterday.

Here is a model 81 I picked up last year on Gunbroker. Does anyone know who could have done this removeable magazine job? Notice the release button inside the trigger guard toward the front. All works fine and no parts fall out when the magazine is removed. You can operate the bolt by hand with the magazine removed, but it will not stay open. The seller did not even know that this was not standard. I emailed him later and gave him some info on these rifles.

It is a 300 Sav with a Williams scope mount and Bushnell,Triple Tested, Scope - Chief 2.5X, Marble's flip down rear sight, Marble's rear tang sight and standard Rem front sight. The trick is to get all three of these aligned to the same target.
Notice the engraved safety lever. I picked it up later on an Ebay auction and put it in myself.

definitely not a Krieger but I like the safety, looks almost like "D" grade engraving. I would just guess it's a one off done by a gunsmith, a couple things seem to point to that. If you get a chance take a pic or two of the internals with the magazine removed, seeing what they did to the barrel lock would explain a little bit too.
