Shooting Model 8

Post by Rutsche »

Hello all,
I purchased a Remington Model 8 last August. It is a 1913 Model 8 in .30 Remington. My question is, should i shoot it. I'm worried that I could break something, but I do kind of want to try it out. I know ammo is hard to come by, but i can reload

Shoot it
Enjoy it

I know you won’t put 500 rounds through it in an afternoon so I seriously doubt you will hurt it
Do you leave your wife alone so she will be more enjoyable for her next husband?

I am heading to the range this afternoon to shoot an 81 in 35 Rem and an 8 in 30 Rem. Loads of fun. These rifles will hold up to use, just don't abuse 'em. Keep the loads mild, (just hot enough to reliably cycle the action), and it should be fine, as long as the rifle is in good working order. Browning designed them to shoot, and they do that well.

Hairtrigger is right: Shoot it. Enjoy it.
