Any advice on load data for a 32 remington model 8? I'll be using Hornady 170 grain bullets. I have the following powders to work with.

IMR 4064
IMR 4350
H 4350
Varget
Reloaded 7
IMR 8208XBR

I just got the gun and love it!

Thanks

.32 Winchester Special data will suffice.
One of the manuals has data for Reloader 7 iirc.

I tried 28.5 & 29.5 grains of reloaded 7 and got about 2-1/2" groups at 50 yards. It kicked like a mule when shooting it off the bench.
I then tried 30 grains of IMR 4064 and got 2" group. I bumped it up to 31 grains and shot a 1-1/2" group. I think I'm going to try 32 grains of 4064 since it has noticeable less recoil and is hitting 5" lower on the target compared to the reloaded 7.

I had a .32 barrel assembly and made up a few loads, but I'm not sure if I recorded them. No I didn't, but do have a load listed for the .32 Special 28.0 Reloader 7.

My 45th Lyman Manual lists in the reference section 32 Remington 170 Grain Jacketed: IMR 4064 28.0-32.0

Sir,
I have shot many deer with my model 8@81s in 32rem. One loading that seems to work well for me is Hornady or Speer 170gr jsp bullets over 31.5 gr.of 3031. BLC2 also worked well especially with the Hornady leverevolution 165 gr.bullets.,with 31.3 gr. Cartridge length escapes me as of this minute. That would take some digging.I am sure that my rifles are all fairly sensitive to overall cartridge length. I've done a lot of work testing and shooting these rifles from the bench and know that it takes some time and shooting targets, but they will shoot pretty good groups. But each rifle I used to hunt deer with had a favorite load.
Thanks for your time,
Roger

Hey fellas,
I finally looked at my ammo in 32rem. The cartridge length varied from 2.530-40" with Hornady 170 jsp bullets. Once again,it varied from one rifle to the next as to which one shot the best groups. I hope this is helpful to those guys that are still able to hunt with these rifles. Our Dnr. here in Iowa took away our hipower rifle season after 8 or more years.
Thanks for your time
