Custom 8: Folding Operating Handle & Safety!

Post by 81police »

I got emailed about this gun a few weeks ago. Never seen another 8/81 quite like it. It's a unique take on the operating handle, modified to be a folding type. The safety lever has been removed and a new custom lever relocated to above the trigger. I think it looks pretty cool actually.

Safe operating aside....what do y'all think? It's wild looking for sure!

There is no hole for the safety lever either. Has the receiver been welded up? The new safety must block the trigger in a different way because there would be no safety rocker either. Very interesting.

Interesting concept. It looks like some welding was done on the receiver below the bolt carrier knob slot, but no visual sign of any welding where the safety hole would have been.

A good looking Mod, I can think of a couple ways it could have problems.
One mod I have interest in is a simple way to turn off the semi auto of our ladies. Some thing similar to the gas valve on the M14. It could improve distance accuracy.
