the model 8D Peerless on GB
Did a member here win it?.
Re: the model 8D Peerless on GB
I watched that auction. I am not sure that was a Grade 4 Peerless. The rifle had been reblued and the engraving did not look like other grade 4, in my opinion.

I looked at the pictures & it was a bit different then many "D"grades, but I believe it was a factory engraved "D" grade. However, the wood was stripped of its finish & it was reblued in my opinion. Despite the condition, I believe the buyer did well for the price it sold for. After all, the gun did have factory checkered wood & was engraved at the factory. It's a rifle that you can hunt with without worrying about hurting the value. Enjoy

I did manage to win this auction on a Model 8 in .35 Rem. Pretty nice wood and metal for a 1909 rifle. What do you think? The checkering on the stock appears to be factory done.
