Custom Cartridge Ammo - 30 & 35 Rem

Post by 81police »

I came across this website, it appears they're loading 30Rem w/ 150gr Barnes TSX bullets @ 2320fps. Would make an outstanding hunting load. Please check them out below...

Cam, thanks for sharing that link. Coincidentally, I saw that too about a week ago when I was surfing for reman/custom reloads online. What I wonder though is if CCA is selling what WE want - 30 Rem Rimless - or this is just 30 Rem AR reloads.

I didn't email them to find out, but if it's what WE want, then it is nice to see more fresh ammo from an additional vendor!

Great question Adam, I didn't even think about 30 Rem AR (which is an awesome cartridge btw). 150gr would be a HEAVY load for the 30REM AR, as the factory loads were in the 125gr range. 150gr for the 30Rem would be just right.

I also saw 300Sav listed as well. He likes Barnes bullets, which means I like him, haha.

Cam I think you are right, if it's a 150 grn it is more likely a .30 Rem (what we want) and not a .30 Rem AR.

I am beginning my foray into reloading, starting slow with bidding on some Lee Loader kits for a few of my fave calibers - nice thing about the .30 Rem is that once you get past locating suitable cases, the .30-30 Win Lee Loader will get me loading for it.

I am looking for the .32 Win Special Lee Loader, since I can do the same with my .32 Rem cases as well.

OK got to get back to my wife and dogs (notice my priorities!) since she has been sick with a cold/flu and the dogs have been doing duty as canine quilts and everything's a bit too quiet right now!

Adam,
you should try the Lee hand press, It's surprizing I like it. Gotta be a little careful not to dump powder though.

Hope your wife is better.
