Model 8 Value

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums. I found the forums because I found a model 8 in a gun shop near where I live. I'd never seen something quite like this rifle and so it prompted a lot of curiosity.
The rifle is chambered in 32 Rem
The rifle is probably about 80% with some bluing gone on the receiver in patches.
The rifle has a tang sight, a rear sight that has two flip up sights (one V one a white diamond). The front is just a bead.
There is no engraving on it though it does seem to have nice checkering and very pretty wood.
The gun comes with some ammo brass and dies.
I checked the serial # against your #s here and that indicated it was made around 1915 or so.
I'm not sure what level of rifle it is (my understanding is that this particular model came in different grades?)
I'm not sure what it's worth as I hear stories about some being 200.00 and some being near 3k.
the price on this is 799.00 and the owner generally charges high prices.
What would a fair price on this rifle be? It is supposedly functional.
Thanks
Pat
