I'm a sucker for projects, so I "rescued" this 1909 pre-Model 8 in .35 Remington. Matching numbers on the receiver, magazine, trigger guard, top tang, and stock. The barrel and sleeve have no serial number. Missing the forend, but not for long, thanks to a member here. Some previous owner shortened the stock and installed an aluminum spacer with a Pachmayr recoil pad. Shame, since it's original to the gun, and looks to have factory checkering. Has a King flat top rear sight and also came with a Marbles R6 tang sight that has a broken stem.
The bolt release is really stiff, and I discovered the magazine spring is snapped in two - trying to determine if a Remington mag spring for a Springfield 1903 might be a workable substitute in the short term.
