Thanks norm. I don't know what the trouble was, but after three entries, it finally came up. this FN has had several modifications and it is missing the usual handle bushing and release spring and pin.

Found it.
Engraved
Butt trap
FN Receiver sight
Hook mount forearm
Monte Carlo stock

Wish I had the extra cash, I could live with the bolt handle.

Not knowing anything about the FN, is it all factory original and is it too much to pay for one, however jack1653 hung in until 5,000.00 so it must not be too high

Hey Guys,

You win some you lose some. The gentleman who won the bid had a worse case of "jackitis" than I did. I had determined my max bid with the opening bid and I stuck to it. The winning bidder had set his high mark and he won.

In spite of some issues with the rifle, it was a fair price in my opinion. I do not think the customization was done by the folks at FN. It is not indicative of the highest quality known to come out of the FN factory.

it's a one of a kind FN for sure. Looks like for Jack1653, his severe case of Jackitis was overcome by a cool head and reason! Kudos to whoever got the gun.

Wow that's some serious cash! I do like the early serial number . The custom work well executed . The buyer should be happy to have a one of a kind right there.

Why would a gun sell for that high of a price if it is a custom not done by FN and is there any way to find out if in fact FN did not do the work

Hey uhjohnson,

If you have ever held a firearm made by the FN factory, you would know this work was not done by the personnel at FN. That does not make the firearm undesirable. It simply says that the craftsmanship on this FN 1900 does not come up to the standards produced by the factory. Take a close look at the engraving and the rough work around and in the trap-door feature. The pictures in my opinion speak for themselves. That being said, the rifle is very unusual with the features which have been added and was worth the price paid. Had the imperfections not been present the price would have been another $1500.00.

Hey Guys,

I want to update you on the FN. I received a note that the buyer of the FN turned out to be a deadbeat and the rifle would be relisted. :o I was invited back to bid and did so. :) There were no other bids and in a week, the rifle had a new home and will soon be joining the stable of the "Dirty Dozen plus one". :D When I get it, I will give it a thorough cleaning and will replace the missing components on the bolt handle. I will get some pictures to 81police so he can post them for me.

Kindest Regards,

jack1653
