New Model 8 Question. Why is bolt not catching on empty.

Post by wolfgolf96 »

Howdy!

Recently got the model 8 bug and bought two at auction. A 35 and 32. The 32 bolt is not staying locked at the rear position when pulled back. Any idea what part is causing this?

Thanks for the input,

A. check and see if the magazine release button spring is on top of the rail on the left side. Disassembly to fix.
B. I had one that the bolt stop rocker parts were not installed correctly. Same fix, gotta disassemble to put stuff right. One thing look for a bent or worn leaf (V) spring on inside the right side. I've had one of those be messed up. From Guber work.
C. The tab on the back of the mag follower is bent or missing. Will allow the action to think the mag is not empty. (Yes they think) Don't try to fix in the action, the follower & spring like to fly away :!: :!: Again disassemble to get it right...
