I just "discovered" these rifles somewhat recently. I am a long time fan of the Model 11 browning shotguns but never happened across an 8 or 81. In my searches I came across this site and of course, had to join. Thanks for having me.

I've heard of this. It sounds very serious and expensive to treat.

Requires repeated infusions of gun oil, powder smoke, and be aware from personal experience there is no cure or remission, only a fear you might miss THE one.
Then a period of restoration fever. With complications of 0.00% gunsmiths that will do quality work.
Finally one throws up hands and starts looking for THE one.

Is it bad if 35 remington is now in my search history? I don't even have the 300 savage one home yet.
