Hello
Just bought this one today at local gun show. The rifle is dated 1928 based on serial number which match. It has a cww3 on barrel and the barrel is marked .300 sav which the codes says it was sent back to Remington in 1950 so was this a factory converted .300 savage?
Thanks Matt

Re: Newby model 8 in .300 savage
Over the years, I've seen a couple of Model 8s converted to .300 Savage. I believe they were done at the factory. Pretty rare nonetheless. Pictures?

The wood is from another Remington and the front sight has been changed I am going to talk with my gunsmith to see if he can fill in the scope holes on side of receiver or should I just sell the gun and move on to a better example?
