Hello all. I have been lurking since I acquired my dad's Model 8 a few months ago. Decided I should join.

Welcome aboard, you will find our members here to be friendly and helpful. If you have any questions, then just ask. Someone will be glad to help you. I see from your forum name that you are a 1911 Colt fan. I'm a true fan of all JMB designed guns, including all his handgun designs. The 1911 Government model would be my favorite one. It's a real iconic design for sure. I have a fair number of them in my collection.
Thanks for your time,
Roger

Thank you. Yes I was a Browning fan before I even knew there was a model 8 in the family. My dad died in 1999. My brother received a couple rifles. The one referred to as the .30 Remington turned out to be the Model 8. Who knew?

Glad you joined this site, 1911fan - you will feel like you found family!

Did somebody mention JMB?

I'd find it hard to NOT have a gun in any decent collection that wasn't designed by John Moses Browning.

Welcome to the club! Where in NH are you? My wife's relatives are in North Conway, Intervale, Keene, and Gorham.
