New Model 8 Owner and Site Member

Post by Mad Texan »

Good Afternoon All,

Just wanted to introduce myself as the newest member of the Great Model 8 family. I recently acquired a Model 8 in 35 Rem. from a friend of my father-in-laws for $250. It's serial number 50711 (1925) and has a barrel stamp PXX3 on the left side where the receiver and barrel meet indicating it was sent back to the factory in 1951. Checked the stocks and the barrel and all serial numbers match. The stock has been cut down and recoil pad added, but overall it's in pretty good shape. Took it by a local gun shop here in Houston and they said that the blueing had been redone by the factory and that as it stood they apparaised the value at ~$500.

Anyway, I'm pretty proud of it and can't wait to shoot it.

Welcome. Proud indeed. :D A nice one and the price makes it even better! Enjoy.
