A5s at gun show

Just got back from the local gun show, not much there for me. I saw only one high-mileage M8 in .30 Rem and the guy wanted $550. That's far out of my negotiation range. But there were at least eight Browning A5s I saw, some in very good condition, most under $300. Problem was seven of them were in 16 gauge. Not that I have anything against a 16, but it does create an ammunition supply problem. You can find 16 ga shells locally, but the price is pretty high, and there's not much load selection. I wish the 16 were a more popular gauge, but it won't do anything a 3" 20 ga. won't do as well, and few seem to want 16 ga shotguns. I have a friend with a Rem 1100 in 16 ga, and he feeds it mainly with shells he buys at yard sales and estate sales. It's been about 4 months since he found a large plastic bag with about 150 loose 16 ga shells of various makes and loads for $10.00 at an estate sale. Too bad you can't do that every weekend.
Reloading is a partial answer, but 16 ga wads aren't usually available locally, so they have to be bought over the internet.
